The Inventory of Sir Thomas Lovell, K.G.
A modernised transcription of the probate inventory of Sir Thomas Lovell, K.G.
The original document (National Archives PROB 2/199) was a roll consisting of 9 pages which are now separate and in varying but generally poor condition - unfortunately several parts are now missing and/or illegible.
It appears that the document is also incomplete, abruptly ending in the middle of the section concerning Lovell's house at East Harling in Norfolk.
Notably the vast majority of Lovell's property is described in terms such as "sore broken" and "worn", so much so that it raises the question as to whether a deliberate effort was being made to under-value the estate.
